Dashboard completions 210 → 363 (+72.9%). Funnel finishers: 236 → 380. Splash starts (all users): 620 → 866. Installs: 514 → 598.

Finishing signup and coming back are still two different challenges

57.9% of completers opened the app again (was 67.7%). Weakest day: 2026-07-15 — only 42.1% of completers that day came back (38 completers). Average return after 9.1h (was 13.7h) — faster return is good even when coverage fell.

Onboarding v2 funnel — this week vs prior week

Truly new users only. Each bar = users who reached that step and every step before it (within 1 day of splash).

Stage 1 — Splash → OTP verified

Stage 1 (splash → OTP): 611 → 511 (83.6% conversion, 100 dropped). Biggest leak: Login screen → SMS sent (55 users, 9.7%). Prior week conversion was 84.4%.

Deep dive — OTP verified → Privacy policy (−106)

Funnel shows SMS sent → OTP verified with 0 drop, then OTP → Privacy −106 (20.7%). Privacy is the next screen after a successful OTP, so we checked whether those 106 really abandoned, hit errors/load issues, or whether the metric is overstating the leak.

Verdict: mostly a metric definition issue, not a broken Privacy screen. The funnel’s “OTP verified” step counts LoginOtpSucceeded or PageLoginVerification. The pageview fires when the OTP screen opens — before the code is verified — so SMS → OTP looks perfect while many users never actually succeed OTP.

Cohort (this week, ordered splash→login→SMS path)UsersWhat happened
Funnel “OTP” (loose: pageview or success) 511 Current Stage 2 start — includes people still on the OTP screen
↳ PageLoginVerification only (no LoginOtpSucceeded in 1-day window) 79 Inflated “OTP verified”. Next event for most: Application Backgrounded (61). Only 8 later got LoginOtpSucceeded within 7 days; 7 hit Privacy; 0 finished this splash journey.
↳ Real OTP success (LoginOtpSucceeded) → no Privacy in window 27 True gap on the success path (432 → 405 ≈ 6.3% drop, not 20.7%)
OTP success → Privacy (converters) 405 Privacy fires essentially immediately after success for people who stay on the onboarding path (median ≈ 0–10s)

Among the 27 with real OTP success and no Privacy pageview:

  • Not a Privacy load/timeout story — within 5 minutes they land on main app surfaces (profile owner pageview 12, calendar 11, groups tab 9, explore 8), then background the app (27/27 within ~10 min, avg ~88s to background).
  • Exceptions are rare (2 users with $exception in the first hour) — not a widespread crash after OTP.
  • None of these 27 fired Privacy or Finished within 7 days of this splash — consistent with already-authenticated / onboarding-bypass users who re-enter via splash+login without going through Privacy again.

Why SMS → OTP shows 0 drop: after LoginOtpRequested, users open the verification screen (PageLoginVerification), which already satisfies the loose OTP step. The real OTP abandonment is hidden inside Stage 2 as “OTP → Privacy”.

Recommended follow-ups: (1) redefine funnel step 05 as LoginOtpSucceeded only; (2) treat Privacy drop after success separately from OTP-screen abandon; (3) for the ~27 success-without-privacy users, confirm product path (skip onboarding for returning accounts) so analytics and UX stay aligned.

Retention Product - Retention

Fixed rolling windows (not the dashboard date picker). Weekly KPI week ending 2026-07-06: 31.1% returned after 1 week. Cohort table below matches Production weekly retention RR (first app open → return).

Day-7 return is uneven — recent chart days are still maturing

Across the daily chart, day-1 return runs 10.0%–37.07% and day-7 6.67%–20.0%. Mature cohort 2026-07-06: d1 20.0%, d7 6.67%. Read the lines — trailing day-7 points can look artificially low before the week completes.

Weekly cohort quality (first app open)

Most recent cohort label w1 has 183 users — w1 return 0.0%, w4 0.0%. Best w1 in the table: w8 at 52.6% (38 users). Weakest w1: w1 at 0.0%. Watch whether newer cohorts hold w1 above ~25% and whether w4 stays above ~10%.

Weekly retention cohorts (w1 = most recent)

% of each first-app-open cohort returning in later weeks. Blank/0 on far weeks often means the cohort has not reached that week yet.
